Image I made for the song Imaginary by Evanescnece.

~~~~~~
Lyrics -
i linger in the doorway
of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name
let me stay
where the wind will whisper to me
where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story
in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
i lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me
don't say i'm out of touch
with this rampant chaos - your reality
i know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
the nightmare i built my own world to escape
in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
i lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me
swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
oh how i long for the deep sleep dreaming
the goddess of imaginary light
in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
i lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me
I know the title is a little unoriginal but its made for the song so naming it after the song only makes sense. Its for a university project so any crit would help quite a bit. I was and still am quite unsure as to where to put this image in terms of catagory. It is mainly traditional media (inks + pen) but I fitted them all together via photoshop plus the hair is photoshop too. The flowers are left white to show that they are paper flowers. I did try adding shading and dabs of colour but they started to look more like real flowers which kinda isn't the point. Figure reference is taken from photos I've taken of my sister. Anyways, hope people like it, it has taken me quite a while.
Pen, pencil, inks, food colourings and photoshop
Another great piece, your lines are really crisp, the figure looks excellent, and the detail you put into the foliage and clouds is phenomenal.
The only thing that strikes me as a bit off is her clothes. Since they are coloured/textured, you may want to add ina few more contours or some overlay shading, just to show how the fabric falls and lift the image a bit more.
Great stuff
Good thinking. I have been thinking about adding creases and shading to the clothes but I'm unsure how to implement them.
Thanks for the great crit yet again! :salute:
well if your using photoshop, the way id probably do it is just paint the creases in using a black brush on a new layer, then set it to overlay, then adjust the opacity to suit.
But you don't really have to, its an amazing picture as it stands
Beautiful though I agree with Sleeper the clothes really stand out as looking plain compared to everything else.
How dare you be so good with watercolours
